With decades of experience delivering exceptional dental care, Dr. Alan Scharf, D.D.S. is a name synonymous with skill, compassion, and community commitment in Maryland.
Dr. Scharf began his academic journey at the State University of New York at Buffalo, graduating Cum Laude in Biology. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dentistry. He commenced his post-graduate residency at Baltimore City Hospital (now Johns Hopkins Hospital – Bayview Medical Center).
After gaining valuable experience in a group private practice in Forest Hill, Maryland, Dr. Scharf opened his own practice, Bel Air Dental Care, in Fallston, Maryland. His dedication to continuing education led him to earn a Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry —a recognition held by fewer than 6% of dentists nationwide. In addition Dr. Scharf became board certified at the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and attained the highest training by receiving Diplomate status.
